The people have spoken. And by people we mean our Marketing Manager. He’s devising ways to tell our customers why we champion VW and what makes them such a strong brand to lease by forcing our staff into an interview situation.
After all, the best answers come straight from the horse's mouths, right?
1. Why does Volkswagen remain such a trusted brand despite past controversies?

"I’ve been in the motor trade for decades and seen this kind of stuff before, in one form or another. Volkswagen has faced challenges - but which brand hasn’t?
But what’s always impressive is how these brands respond. VW did it with transparency, new investments in cleaner technologies, and big steps into electric mobility. The trust is built on more than just one chapter in its history. That’s why our relationships are so important. Loyalty matters.
Away from that, VW’s reliability, safety record, and sheer popularity in the UK speak volumes. They have a cult following. People still want Volkswagens, and that says a lot about the strength of the brand."
2. What makes Volkswagen a smart choice for businesses looking at fleet leasing?

"From a strategic point of view, VW ticks a lot of boxes for businesses. Their offering is amazing. Who doesn’t love the look and appeal of a retro VW camper or GTI? But then they also have practical city cars, posh saloons and larger SUVs . That flexibility allows businesses to cater to different staff needs while keeping a consistent, reputable brand image.
On top of that, VW’s investment in electrification and sustainable mobility aligns well with corporate responsibility goals - which is becoming increasingly important for many of our clients."
3. Are your Volkswagen lease deals actually competitive?

"Absolutely. VW is one of the most popular brands we lease, and that popularity drives the best offers. Because demand is strong, VW works closely with leasing partners like us to create competitive deals that suit our personal and business customers.
The range is broad and the price points are attractive. Plus, you kind of know what you’re getting with a Volkswagen don’t you?
The thing that stands out most, though, is how surprised customers are at how cost-effective a Volkswagen lease can be compared to some other big names or buying outright."
4. How long does it take to get a Volkswagen deal over the line?

"Timing is everything - it mostly depends on the model and stock but there are factors outside of that which can impact us.
Popular cars like the Golf or T-Roc can move quickly if they’re already in stock, while new EVs such as the ID.4 might have slightly longer lead times due to demand.
We work hard, and invest behind the scenes, to keep customers updated on availability and delivery. The good news is Volkswagen’s supply chain has improved a lot lately, and we’re seeing faster turnaround times across the board."
5. It must be easy to market a brand like VW, right?

"Under the bus I go. It’s the easiest. Volkswagen markets itself. Heritage, history, global appeal. Cars and vans that people want to drive. What a dream!
But my job is convincing customers that Summit Drive is the best place to lease one. That’s where the last few years of graft come in. We’ve worked hard to re-align the brand, give it an identity and build a reputation.
Where we’re hoping to slot in amongst our competitors as the non-corporate machine with a touch of Yorkshire charm. We’re a small family business where our relationships matter."
Volkswagen Final Summit
At Summit Drive, we’re not just selling the badge. We’ve got the people, knowledge, and relationships with Volkswagen to back it up. That means competitive prices and access to a wide range of Volkswagen lease deals.
Leasing a Volkswagen through us isn’t just about getting behind the wheel of a well-equipped car; it’s about choosing a partner who knows the brand inside out and puts trust and service first.
