More Than a Logo: Why Supporting Local Sport Matters to Summit Drive

When people think of Summit Drive and sport, Hull FC is often the first partnership that comes to mind.

As Official Vehicle Partner, we're incredibly proud of what has become a genuine, long-term relationship built on shared values, community spirit and a passion for our city. But our commitment to local sport doesn't stop at the MKM Stadium.

For us, supporting sport has never been about visibility alone.

It's about backing the clubs, volunteers, players and communities that make East Yorkshire such a brilliant place to live.

Whether it's rugby, football or grassroots junior teams, we're always looking for opportunities to give something back.

Supporting North Ferriby FC

One of the clubs we're proud to support is North Ferriby FC.

Alongside pitch-side advertising at Grange Lane, we were delighted to be one of the sponsors of this year's Ferriby Festival - a fantastic community event bringing together local families, businesses and supporters for a day of live music, entertainment and sport.

Events like these are about far more than football.

They bring communities together, create lasting memories and help clubs generate vital income that supports everything happening on and off the pitch throughout the year.

They're exactly the sort of initiatives we want to be part of.

Backing Hull Ionians

Our support also extends to Hull Ionians Rugby Club, where our advertising boards can be seen around the ground.

It's a club with strong personal connections for Summit Drive.

Managing Director Chris Walker played at Hull Ionians and has remained closely involved over the years, always looking for ways to support the club whenever possible.

For Chris, it's a relationship that goes beyond business.

"Sport gave me some incredible opportunities growing up. It teaches teamwork, resilience, respect and creates friendships that last a lifetime. If Summit Drive can play even a small part in helping local clubs thrive, whether that's through sponsorship, fundraising or simply getting behind community events, then that's something we're incredibly proud of. Local clubs rely on local businesses, and we want to continue doing our bit wherever we can."

Investing in the Next Generation

Grassroots sport is where every sporting journey begins.

That's why we're delighted to become the official shirt sponsor of Costello Jags Under 8s.

At that age, football is all about having fun, building confidence and learning the values of teamwork, respect and determination.

Seeing young players pull on a shirt with pride reminds us exactly why supporting grassroots clubs matters.

Today's Under 8s are tomorrow's coaches, volunteers, supporters and community leaders.

Looking Ahead

As Summit Drive continues to grow, so too does our ambition to support even more local sporting organisations across the region.

We know sponsorship isn't just about having your name on a board or a shirt.

It's about building relationships. Supporting volunteers. Helping clubs create opportunities. And giving something back to the communities that have supported us from day one.

Hull FC may be our biggest partnership, but it's only one chapter of a much bigger story.

If you're involved with a local sports club, charity or community organisation and think there may be an opportunity to work together, we'd love to hear from you.

Because when local businesses support local sports, everybody wins.
